Depending on the type of examination.

Examinations that require pre-booking are: MRI, CT scanning(with contrast), any contrast studies,cardiac examinations, studies that require anesthesia, interventional radiology.

Tests that do not require pre-booking are: Ultrasound, X-ray , dental x-ray and (CT without dye).

Your results are ready no later than the following day. However, in urgent cases (e.g. trauma) we’ll notify the specialist and request him/her to write an urgent Report. Alternatively you can directly receive the films without the report.  

Most tests take no time, but some do take from 30 to 45 minutes such as MRI, CT and tests with dye.

These contrast agents used in our examinations are generally quite safe. However a small group of people may experience certain side effects as result of an Allergic reaction.

There is absolutely no pain from dye use.

Contrastis required to show certain parts of the body such as blood vessels and the digestive systemand they are essential in detecting tumors and some diseases that cannot be diagnosed without injecting the dye.

The waiting time is to allow the resident radiologist to view the exam done and make sure that no more views or other exams are needed.

Bringing your previous exams are important for comparing the current situation to the old one, especially if the exam is done for follow up, even if the exams Were done elsewhere.

The difference is in the part where the patient sleeps during the examination, in closed MRI you cannot see what is outside like you are in a closed box while in the open MRI device you can see what is around you, so closed MRI may be a problem only for those who have phobia of closed places.

Sometimes patients who are unable to stay calm who are anesthetized because the movement spoils the image, such as children and some psychopaths, some cases of cramps, and severe pain.
